HOLLYWOOD CATFIGHT ESCALATES

BAD blood between Paris Hilton and Shannen Doherty boiled over the other night when the hot-headed hotel heiress and the "90210" star bumped into each other at an L.A. party. It happened at Deluxe, a weekly bash held behind the Las Palmas restaurant in Hollywood. Hilton has been seeing Doherty's soon-to-be-ex-husband Rick Solomon and, "The two don't like each other," our spy reported.

Solomon, 33, an Internet gambling site owner, split from Doherty, 31, after he attended Nicky Hilton's 19th birthday party Oct. 12 at the Hollywood hotspot Ivar and spent the whole evening with Paris, 21, his former girlriend.

Hilton recently broke up with her live-in love, model Jason Shaw.

"Paris and Rick have been holed up at the Beverly Hills Hotel for 10 days partying hard and he hasn't gone home to see his two children [by another woman]. Paris has been leaving threatening messages on Shannen's machine and Shannen is sick of it."

When the two saw each other, Hilton allegedly "marched up to Shannen and started yelling at her, saying, 'Leave Rick alone!' "

A spokeswoman for Paris said Doherty was the aggressor: "Shannen grabbed Paris' face and punched her. Then Shannen followed her, and egged her car, and wrote profanities on her car in red lipstick."

A neighbor of Paris' in the Hollywood Hills reports that a black Cadillac Escalade parked near Hilton's house was egged at 3:30 a.m. by a carload of young vandals. Police finally towed the car away on Thursday night.

Leslie Sloane Zelnik, Doherty's rep said: "This is completely ridiculous, and we are not in high school anymore. The two did have a conversation. Shannen hopes Rick gets help and wishes them the best. Shannen didn't touch her, didn't egg her car or write profanities in red lipstick. Shannen doesn't wear red lipstick."

As for the conversation, Doherty, known for her temper, reportedly told Paris: "Listen, I am through with Rick. You can have him, but you need to let him go home to his kids and get help. If you aren't going to help him, then let him go. Think of his family and his kids!"

Words escalated before Doherty turned tail and left, noting, "I have worked too hard to get where I am - I am not going to let that girl bring me down!"

The spy added ominously, "Shannen has seen a lawyer about the threatening messages Paris left her. She hasn't filed a restraining order yet, but is thinking about it."
