You may well be witnessing a supernatural wonder: the reincarnation of cosmetics queen Mary Kay Ash in the body of Shirley MacLaine.

The Oscar-winning actress stars in the CBS TV movie "The Battle of Mary Kay." It's the rags-to-riches saga of the Texas widow who made herself, and other ordinary women, rich by selling beauty products. MacLaine tells "Extra" she's not just acting this part. She claims that she's actually channeling the spirit of the late self-made millionairess. She says, "She would come in because I would give her permission."

Shirley, a well-known disciple of new age philosophy, says she's been possessed before by the spirits of other real life characters she's played. She says, "I let them play me. I like them to orchestrate me."

The film co-stars Shannon Doherty, who plays an employee in awe of her boss. But the film focuses on another ambitious Texan, played by Parker Posey, who launches a rival company and tries to steal Mary Kay's customers.

It's a beauty war that turned downright ugly, but Shirley says the story shows Mary Kay in a favorable light. She says, "I wouldn't play a really mean person because then that really mean person would be using me to play herself."
